As a clinician, I strive to make a genuine connection with everyone I engage with. It is important while working with others to have a collaborative process where everyone is making contributions. I believe in the notion of meeting people where they are and increasing their knowledge through the encouragement of empowerment, critically thinking, and self-reflection. I understand and acknowledge that collaborating with others allows the opportunity for cultural competency for myself as well as those I am working with. Incorporating the multiple intelligence theory while collaborating with others assist in recognizing the versatility of learning. I strive for critical awareness in an engaging environment while being inclusive for people to feel comfortable expressing themselves appropriately using critical consciousness and awareness.
I have experience working with a variety of ages in the inpatient and partial psychiatric setting, medical hospital, both in and outpatient settings and substance abuse field. My primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution- Focused, and Mindfulness techniques. As a clinician I take a holistic approach, making sure to take into consideration all aspects of your life. I believe in taking a strengths-based perspective to give you the courage and motivation to implement the changes you wish to make in your life. I am here to help empower you to create the life you want to live.
